Over the years; brickwork in buildings often wears down and develops cracks and defects. This is especially true in the cases of older buildings. That’s why in order to infuse new life into the buildings; restoration of brickwork is of utmost importance.
This restoration is called brick repointing. It’s very much understood that bricks are one of the most basic and the fundamental part of any construction. They provide the desired structure and stability to buildings. However, to get the structural integrity you have to join these bricks together.
Normally mortar is used for this purpose, and precisely mortar is the reason for the weakening of this structure integrity of a building over the years. The process wherein these broken joints and ends of the bricks are repaired and restored to their original condition is known as brick repointing.
